Mains Syllabus-

UPSC Mains Syllabus consists of 9 papers and 7 out of 9 papers marks counted for merit list. Two papers which are language papers are not counted for mains merit list. Indian language and English language are two language which are qualifying in nature.

Rest papers are known as ESSAY, General Studies (4), Optional Subject (2) . Al these papers are descriptive in nature. You will have to answer all the questions in long answer in answer sheets.
