Mass Effect 2 Legion Upgrade

  1. Mass Effect 2 How To Upgrade Weapons

In preparation for ME3, I'm doing a replay of Mass Effect 2 and I want to know if I can take Legion on Tali's loyalty mission, complete all other loyalty missions (including his), and still save everyone in the crew. I know at some point, my ship gets invaded and collectors make off with a lot of my crew.

Esok

  • Most characters join your crew regardless of whether or not you want them.
  • Each will have something new to say after you complete a plot Mission.

Garrus Vakarian

How to get: At

Mass Effect 2 How To Upgrade Weapons

Abilities: Mercenary Veteran, Concussive Shot, Disruptor Ammo, Inferno Grenade (once Loyal)
Weapons: Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles

Other Crew

Joker: Always in the pilot's seat on the Bridge. He'll comment on the squadmates you took out on the previous Assignment or Mission, and will occasionally have some new dialog.

EDI: Her (It's?) primary location is next to Joker on the Bridge. Will have brief new dialog after every major Plot Mission.

Kelly Chambers: Stands aft of the Galaxy Map. She's a possible romance option for either gender Shepard. If you have dinner with her in Shepard's Cabin, she'll offer to feed your fish, but they seem to die anyway. If you want to see her again in ME3, you'll need to at least have dinner with her. Only going as far as dinner will not affect any other romance. Surviving the Suicide Mission will allow you to invite her up to Shepard's Cabin for something a bit more intimate. To get her to survive the game, you'll need all of Normandy's Upgrades, and you'll need to start the Suicide Mission immediately after it becomes available.

Dr. Chakwas: Located always in the Medical Bay. She's the contact point for the Serrice Brandy Assignment, and upon completion will unlock the Facial Scar Remover in Med Bay. She'll have minor new dialog after each Plot Mission.

Engineers Donneley and Daniels: Located always in Engineering, they'll have new dialog on occasion, but mostly you can overhear clever banter between the two. They also have the Assignment 'Normandy: FBA Couplings.' Completing this leads to an optional poker game with them.

Mess Sergeant Gardner: Located always in the kitchen, he never has any new dialog, other than that related to his Assignment 'Normandy: Special Ingredients.'

Romance Notes

  • Romancing the same person from ME1 is not possible in ME2.
  • If you want to carry over a romance from ME1 into ME3, you'll need to remain loyal to that person and not romance anyone in ME2.
  • Having dinner with Kelly Chambers will cause some crew to think you're involved, but won't affect any other possible romances.

This is my guide on how to keep everyone alive in Mass Effect 2.

Recruit everyone you can and get them loyal BEFORE the derelict reaper mission (for the IFF). After wards you only have time before the attack on the ship for one more mission, you'll want to use this for Legion's loyal mission. After the attack on your ship you're given the opportunity to go straight to the Omega 4 Relay, DO NOT DELAY IN THIS , otherwise Kelly and some if not all of the crew die (melting was weird).

Here are the Squad recommendations for keeping everyone alive, you can choose other people who are equally as good at the task but this is who i used..

Have Legion as your Tech Specialist, have Garrus lead the strike team. As the biotic protector use Samara. To lead the strike team a 2nd time use Garrus again. To help the crew escape send grunt. Choose whoever you like for the final squad selection. Follow this and you should be able to keep everyone alive in Mass Effect 2.

That wasn't necessarily true. It's most likely to work if you choose Miranda and Garrus rather than Grunt and Garrus. When you're off to fight the final boss, it factors in a defensive score to see if anyone dies. If you didn't leave enough 'tough' party members to fight, then people die, starting with Mordin. Grunt is one of the best party members to leave for them.

Theres loads of combinations you can use to keep people alive, the irritating thing is, you have to have all the squad members friendly with you. if you say the wrong stuff in conversations throughout the game you can doom your team members. Morale of the story: Dont Piss About. (learned the hard way, i dont have the achievement yet!)

There are many combos. The best way to pick your specialist is to think. Example I need a tech specialist.. stop and think. 'Tali is a tech specialist who's been hacking systems with me for a long time.' 'Can Miranda even pick a lock?' 'Hmm, Legion can hack an entire Geth Network at once, he's a robot. And is quicker at Data adaptation then anyone probably except Tali.' Or for instance the Squad Leader. 'Miranda led the project that raised me up. Jacob was a great marine and a leader.' 'Zaeed started the blue sons buuut, it ended with all his loyalists dead and him getting a bullet through the..' Or the Diversion Leader. 'Garrus held of 3 separate gangs out to kill him at the same time, pissing off the entire criminal underworld and living to tell about it.' Think and rationalize the choices. Examples including Jack as the most powerful human biotic alive and Samara the old justicar vs not so biotically adept people. Or how to fortify the final team. Remember think about their records, backstory and the shit they have pulled that got them to where they are today. THAT will lead you to picking good combos if you pay attention to the clues!

I actually had one playthrough where I screwed up Zaeed's loyalty mission and had to choose Tali's focus over Legion's when they size eachother up. By telling Legion I lied to Tali and keeping Zaeed and Legion as my squad for the Collector Base, I kept every one alive..proof that you can still screw up and keep 'em all alive ;)
